Weekly Playdate with Friends

Violet enjoys her playdate with some other children on Wednesdays. My friend, Rebecca, hosts a get together time, more for the mommy's than littles, but they all play together well.

Today it was just Rebecca, Amy, me and our babies. We chat in the morning, enjoy a yummy lunch together and often just chat in the afternoon, but sometimes we fit a crafty project in the afternoons. (I like those days the most...chatting and crafting. Great combo!)

Here are some pics of our day today.

Andrew trying to squeeze into the Bumbo.

Amy and her new little one Grace.

Our hostess witht the mostest, Rebecca.

Cuddling with Ben.

Baby Counter.

Rebecca's youngest, Ben. He is a sweet, sweet boy.

We are missing two boys in the pics. It seemed like every picture of the big boys was blurry due to their constant play...go, go, go! Rebecca has Josh and Ben. Amy has Isaac, Andrew and Grace. One other mother joins us most weeks but she is out of town this week. She has two girls, so we even out with boys and girls.

It is always a sweet time of encouragement and general girl chat. :)

Check out my flickr page on the right of the blog for video of the Vi Pie jumping like its her job. She is an absolute joy!

New Things

We are borrowing this exersaucer from some friends before we get one for Violet. I am now convinced she loves it. It is a worthwhile buy. I don't like to buy something before trying it out. The purple thing on her head doesn't come with it but she enjoys that as well. :)

New foods around here. She is finishing her carrots in this picture. We have tried squash, carrots, sweet potatoes, bananas and tonight we are trying avocado. She has eaten it all up. No funny faces or spewing yet, thankfully. I know we will find one she doesn't like at this rate of trying new things.

The doctor encouraged me to jump in with feeding her three times a day. I am going back and forth between 2-3 times daily. She is adjusting to the new foods beautifully. I am thankful for this flexible baby.

Yesterday was the first time she rolled over from her back to her belly. She has rolled from her belly to back a few times but not often and then all of a sudden yesterday on the floor she rolled twice. I was waiting for it to happen again but she was done for the day.

She is ch-ch-changing...(insert singing)

Easter Thoughts

My mom made this dress for Violet and brought it with her on her recent visit. I loved it so much I proclaimed it her Easter dress. My sister, Lauren, decided to knit her a shrug to go over it that will keep Violet warm yet still show the sweet yo-yos my Mom sewed on the bodice. I am one thankful family member; thankful for my family's craftiness and thankful for their generosity. Violet looks lovely in her outfit!

My prayer is that what we wear when we come together for corporate worship will be honoring to our God. We are to focus on our Lord and what He has done, not on what we are wearing.  That being said I am very thankful for the dress for sweet Violet and hope that how we dress and take care of her is God-honoring.

May everyone have a joyous Easter as we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and Savior!

His amazing love keeps me in awe...

He left his Father's throne above
(so free, so infinite his grace!),
Humbled himself
(so great his love!),
And bled for all his chosen race.
'Tis mercy all, immense and free;
for O, my God, it found out me.

Amazing love! How can it be
That thou, my God, shouldst die for me?

Solid Foods!

Well, kinda solid...

Vi is joining the ranks. These are from her first rice cereal feeding. She went at it like a pro. So far she has only had the cereal and some pureed banana.

I just finished cooking up some carrots so we will try those tomorrow. She is growing up so fast!

Sarah and Andrew's Visit

Two weekends ago Sarah and Andrew flew into San Francisco for a visit. They wanted to spend some time in the city so we joined them up there for the first weekend they were here. They flew in Saturday afternoon and we all met up at our hotel.

It was so good to see them both. Here is Sarah holding Vi for the first time.

Our first night together we drove to Sausalito. It is a little town right on the San Fransisco Bay. We had a nice time walking around and eating at a delicious restaurant on the water.
The next morning Sarah & Andrew headed to Alcatraz while Daniel and I explored the Golden Gate Park and Japanese Tea Garden. We all met up at Pier 39 for the afternoon. Guess who was in town? Marc and Amaya! We met them at Pier 39 and then spent some time with them at the hotel that evening. Always good to see them.

Our time at the hotel was perfect. Sarah and Andrew make for good roomies. :)

Violet did really well for her first get-away. I was so thankful she slept well each night and was overall a flexible happy baby. I am so thankful for her!

Muir Woods is a redwood forest north of San Francisco. We spent a few hours up there before we all headed south for the Monterey area.

Our week here with them was sweet. We were able to see some sights we hadn't seen before but most importantly just spend time with Sarah and Andrew. We always enjoy their company and we are so glad they made it out here.

Thanks for coming out. Sarah, I am glad you didn't sneak Vi back to Virginia with you in your carry-on. I would have missed her alot. :)

 Love you both!
